Travel into space with the NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S

1. A star with the stars
With its 115° field of view at 14mm, this is a fantastic lens for night sky photography. Using ultra-wide lenses to render point light sources, such as stars, often requires extra editing but, with the optical performance of the NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S, light sources are reproduced faithfully throughout the frame. Those long exposure times needed to capture the stars mean you might be out for a while, so carry an extra battery (and keep it warm in a pocket so it will last longer in cold conditions).

2. Play with distortion
Use the properties of the NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S to get creative by exaggerating features of a subject close to you. Portraits with ultra-wide and wide-angle lenses can create huge emotional impact in a face or emphasise something held in a hand thrust towards the camera.
3. Go vertical
Ultra-wide and wide-angle lenses are mostly seen as ‘landscape’ lenses for taking in the width of a scene, but they are great for creating impact in a vertical image, too. Try it out and see how much you can hero something in the foreground of a landscape and really draw your viewer into the story.
5. Look for symmetry
Architectural interiors can offer opportunities to create wonderful images, and the NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S will give these images a huge sense of space. Try looking at spaces with symmetrical lines on ceilings, walls or floors, and centre your image on them for maximum impact.
5. Zoom into the story
You might think that 10mm of difference in focal length doesn’t sound like much, but use the NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S to zoom in from 14mm to 24mm on video and think again. That zoom takes the viewer from the expansive establishing image and brings them into the story. And, with almost zero focus breathing and just the right amount of torque on the control ring, you’ll achieve amazingly smooth transitions.
